What we do
Examine workplace tension, anger, disputes, personality clashes, stress, disagreements, office politics, diversity issues and more, be it within a department, board of directors, community organization or business. Making the working environment more friendly, pleasant and honest can improve productive and cut costs while reducing violence in the workplace and community.
How we do it
We break organizations down into coherent groups, then interview individuals in those groups one by one, let people vent in private and clarify what issues are at hand, getting a picture of the overall situation, then work with the individuals and groups to brainstorm AND IMPLEMENT solutions to any identified problem areas.
How we're different
We're unique in that we empower the WORKER as well as a company to contact us and call us in. We work one-on-one with each individual in a workgroup, department, company or nonprofit organization. And we follow up to make sure that improvements are occurring and continue to occur. Other conflict or dispute services often only offer seminars, group discussions, little or no follow-up, and superficial treatment of situations.
Why we do it
We want to live in a safer, kinder, more harmonious community. One of the best ways to do that is to improve the workplace environment (specifically the way people treat each other). That carries over into everyday life outside of work. We also work closely with community groups and agencies to improve the local economy and social environment. Most of us also have been workers and supervisors who realized there was often no place for us to turn to (within or outside of the organization) when an org-related problem arose.
What we charge
Our rates are generally based on the following criteria: Profit vs. nonprofit, size of org (cost can be very small, for example, if the issue involves a subsection of a department even if that department is part of a large company), and number of people involved or being interviewed.
If a business, group, or other organization is the sponsor of the consultation, we charge a base fee of $250, including initial interviews with four individual, pre- and post-consultations with the person(s) who called us into the situation, and a written and oral evaluation including suggested options. Each additional person or session involved is $35 to $75 per session, depending on type of business or organization and the complexity of the issues. We also offer long-term contracts with various rates depending on numbers of people involved, extensiveness of the situation, mileage to and from your site, etc.
If an individual calls us in, we charge the individual $35 to $75 per session, depending on the type of situation involved (business, community group, etc.), and we try to work with that person's company or organization to cost-share.
We also offer consultation by phone; the fees can be less, depending on time and travel-cost savings.
We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card or cash; we accept checks only in contracted billing arrangements. Some of our associates are also able to accept health insurance payments, depending on the situation.
